One faith-based leader who met with President Barack Obama and Governor Rick Perry in Dallas Wednesday says the private meeting with local officials and faith leaders was productive in homing in on solutions that will meet the state's most immediate needs in dealing with the border crisis.

Despite appeals from members of his own party to accept Perry's invitation to tour the U.S.-Mexico border where the humanitarian and national security crisis is unfolding, Obama declined, opting instead to meet in Dallas before attending one of three Democratic fundraisers in the state.

Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin has stated that President Barack Obama should be impeached due to his handling of the most recent crisis on the United States' southern border.

In a column posted on Breitbart.com on Tuesday, Palin explained her reasons for wanting President Obama impeached.

"Without borders, there is no nation. Obama knows this. Opening our borders to a flood of illegal immigrants is deliberate," wrote Palin. more >>

Texas Republican Gov. Rick Perry told members of the U.S. Homeland Security Committee Thursday afternoon that the illegal immigrants who've flooded the border since October must be sent back home.

Perry told committee members who toured a facility in McAllen and other centers in the state, where immigrants are being housed temporarily, that returning the children and adults who are entering the U.S. illegally will send a message to others to not embark on the dangerous and possibly deadly journey.

"Some may think that allowing them to stay here is the more humane option; I assure you it's not," Perry asserted. "Nobody is doing any of these children the slightest favor by delaying a rapid return to their countries of origin." more >>

Liberals talk about poverty but have bad policies while conservatives avoid the issue of poverty. This adds up to a "conspiracy against poor people," Arthur Brooks, president of the American Enterprise Institute, told The Christian Post on Monday.

"Right now," he said, "the biggest problem we have is that the Left talks an awful lot about poverty alleviation but the policies don't work very well. ... The Right, on the other hand, is simply not talking very much about approaches to help those in poverty.

"So you have one side that talks about it and doesn't get the job done, you have another side that's not talking about it, that's a conspiracy against poor people. That's the real problem we have in America today." more >>

New York's homeless are outraged after a Chinese millionaire promised to provide them each with a fancy lunch in Central Park and $300 each, only to find that they would not be receiving the cash prize.

Chen Guangbiao, a Chinese recycling entrepreneur, organized Wednesday's lunch with the New York City Rescue Mission to provide a three-course meal to 250 homeless people at The Loeb Central Park Boathouse restaurant. Chen had taken out advertisements last week in U.S. newspapers, advertising the unique charity event that promised lunch, along with a $300 cash gift for each attendee.

Chinese and Americans reporters crowded around the Boathouse restaurant on Wednesday to observe the 250 homeless people dining on a three-course meal that was served by suited waiters and included filet mignon, tuna and fruit. Chen also performed magic tricks for the crowd and sang a rendition of "We Are the World," a charity song originally composed in 1985. more >>

A church in Arizona facing the possibility of foreclosure due to owing money on a tax it claims was illegal has raised about $68,000 to remain open.

Church of the Isaiah 58 Project was given a $50,000 tax bill from La Paz County that the congregation argues it does not have to pay.

The church successfully raised $68,000 to pay the bill as a condition of continuing litigation in a civil suit they filed against La Paz, it was recently announced. more >>
