The much-anticipated trailer has been released for "Exodus: Gods and Kings," starring Christian Bale as Moses, along with a new poster for the biblical epic by Director Ridley Scott.

The one-and-a-half minute trailer focuses heavily on the relationship between Moses and the Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses (Joel Edgerton), who grew up together as brothers but then rise up against each other over Moses' mission to free the enslaved Hebrews.

An up-and-coming actor from London has been chosen out of over 4,000 auditions for the lead role in the "David and Goliath" biblical epic, set for an early 2015 nationwide theater release.

Casting was held in Los Angeles, New York, Toronto, and London to find the right actor to play David for the big-budget movie, which recently wrapped up principal photography in North Africa and in studios in London, before Miles Sloman was selected for the role.

"When Miles auditioned," said director Tim Chey, "I knew instantly he was the one. This was the young King David who could defeat the giant warrior. He showed a lot of courage on the set even falling off a donkey when the helicopter came too close." more >>

Zealot, the controversial book about Jesus Christ written by Muslim author Reza Aslan, is set to be made into a movie by David Heyman, the producer behind the "Harry Potter" series. Deadline.com reported on Monday that Heyman, who is also behind 2013's critically-acclaimed "Gravity," will produce the movie alongside Jeff Clifford. Focus Features Chief James Schamus will be writing the adaptation.

"Sifting through centuries of mythmaking, Dr. Aslan sheds light on one of history's most influential and enigmatic characters by examining Jesus through the lens of the tumultuous era in which he lived," Lionsgate, which acquired the rights for the title in December, said.

Zealot: The Life and Times of Jesus of Nazareth, drew controversy in 2013 after several scholars responded to the work, which depicts what it says is the historical Jesus, but leaves out much of the divine inspiration found in the New Testament. more >>

Conservative filmmaker and pundit Dinesh D'Souza's "America" brought in $2.75 million over the weekend, bringing its total box office earnings to $4 million since it opened on June 27.

"Transformers: Age of Extinction" remained in first for the second straight weekend, as "America" fell just out of the top 10 and finished in 11th place, reported Box Office Mojo.

Film actor Pierce Brosnan revealed that his Catholic faith helped him deal with a number of life's tragedies, including losing both his first wife and his adopted daughter to ovarian cancer.

"I would say faith, being Irish, being Catholic, it's ingrained in my DNA," Brosnan responded to a question about what helped him through his dark days, according to NY Daily News on Monday.

Brosnan, most famous for starring in the "James Bond" series, made the comments at the New York premiere of his new film, "A Long Way Down," where he plays a depressed television personality contemplating suicide. more >>

Louis Zamperini, who is the center of the best-selling book "Unbroken," died at age 97 in Los Angeles on Wednesday, July 1.

The former Olympic track star is also the center of the upcoming Angelina Jolie-directed film "Unbroken," which based on the book about his extraordinary story. Zamperini, who survived 47 days on a raft in the Pacific Ocean and three years in a Japanese POW camp during World War II, died of pneumonia.

"After a 40-day-long battle for his life, he peacefully passed away in the presence of his entire family, leaving behind a legacy that has touched so many lives," Zamperini's family said in a statement, according to Deadline. more >>
