Media personality Glenn Beck pledged Tuesday to help the thousands of illegal immigrant children at the U.S. border, warning that Americans "must open our hearts" to avoid punishing the children caught in the middle of a political fight.

"Through no fault of their own, they are caught in political crossfire," said Beck, according to a report in The Blaze. "And while we continue to put pressure on Washington and change its course of lawlessness, we must also help. It is not either, or. It is both. We have to be active in the political game, and we must open our hearts," he said.

In his announcement, Beck said he will be bring tractor-trailers packed with food, water, teddy bears and soccer balls to McAllen, Texas, for the children on July 19. He will be joined by Republican Sen. Mike Lee of Utah and Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas. In his party will also be a number of pastors and rabbis. more >>

President Barack Obama's request for $3.7 billion to fix the problems with the Southern border of the United States will not work, Texas Governor Rick Perry argued, because most of it will not be spent on border security.

The long-serving Lone Star State governor and former Republican presidential hopeful recently spoke to Sean Hannity of Fox News about the problems of the border.

Pastors and churches have been banned from helping the thousands of illegal immigrant children housed in border detention facilities run by U.S. Customs and Border Protection, clergy in Texas and Arizona tell me.

"Border Patrol told us pastors and churches are not allowed to visit," said Kyle Coffin, the pastor of CrossRoads Church in Tucson, Arizona. "It's pretty heartbreaking that they don't let anybody in there -- even credentialed pastors."

One faith-based leader who met with President Barack Obama and Governor Rick Perry in Dallas Wednesday says the private meeting with local officials and faith leaders was productive in homing in on solutions that will meet the state's most immediate needs in dealing with the border crisis.

Despite appeals from members of his own party to accept Perry's invitation to tour the U.S.-Mexico border where the humanitarian and national security crisis is unfolding, Obama declined, opting instead to meet in Dallas before attending one of three Democratic fundraisers in the state.

Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin has stated that President Barack Obama should be impeached due to his handling of the most recent crisis on the United States' southern border.

In a column posted on Breitbart.com on Tuesday, Palin explained her reasons for wanting President Obama impeached.

President Barack Obama has finally agreed to meet with Texas Republican Gov. Rick Perry over the raging border crisis after Perry rejected a Monday offer from the White House to greet the president on the tarmac when he arrives in Austin Wednesday.

Perry's office revealed in a Wall Street Journal report that the White House had invited the governor to greet the president on the tarmac but he declined the offer. Instead, Perry again requested a meeting with Obama to discuss the flood of illegal immigrants crossing the U.S. border from Central America.

"I appreciate the offer to greet you at Austin-Bergstrom Airport, but a quick handshake on the tarmac will not allow for a thoughtful discussion regarding the humanitarian and national security crises enveloping the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas," Perry wrote in a letter to the president Monday, according to WSJ. "I would instead offer to meet with you at any time during your visit to Texas for a substantive meeting to discuss this critical issue." more >>
