The Benham Brothers have announced that despite their planned show "Flip it Forward" being cancelled by HGTV because of their conservative views on marriage, they have finished renovating the homes they promised to do.

"The people most affected by HGTV's decision to cancel the show were the families that stepped out in faith to flip a house for the show," David Benham said on Tuesday, according to The Daily Caller.

A conservative Christian campaign group has called Sir Elton John's comments that Jesus would support same-sex marriage if he were alive today "remarkably ignorant and staggeringly arrogant."

Campaigns director Andrew Marsh of Christian Concern told BBC Radio Wales:

A Christian-run bakery in the U.K. could be facing a court case after it refused a request from a customer to make a cake featuring the "Sesame Street" characters Bert and Ernie with a slogan to "support gay marriage."

Ashers Baking Company in Belfast declined the order from the customer, a gay rights activist, but now mat face legal action from watchdog group Equality Commission, BBC News reported on Tuesday.

In a statement, the 24-year-old general manager of the Christian bakery said that the order, featuring portraits of the two puppets side by side alongside the logo of gay rights group QueerSpace, went against their religious convictions. more >>

The United Reformed Church in the U.K. fell short of reaching a full consensus on changing its traditional definition of marriage to include same-sex couples during its General Assembly.

The Rev. John Proctor said that a "clear majority" of the 300 delegates were in favor of seeing URC become the U.K.'s biggest church that embraces same-sex marriages, but the church body needed a "full consensus," BBC News noted on Sunday.

An Iranian version of "Modern Family" debuted this week during Ramadan and is a big hit with the public. However, there is one significant difference between the U.S. and Iranian versions: there is no homosexual couple on the Iranian version, in accordance with Iranian tradition.

The show, known as "Haft Sang" in Iran, has been modified for the Islamic Republic but does not have any rights to the U.S. comedy, according to a producer for 20th Century Fox. "Haft Sang" translates to "seven stones" in Iran and features the same family dynamics, except for the relationship between gay men.

Burger King has introduced the new "Gay Pride Whopper" in San Francisco with a message inside the rainbow-colored wrapper reading "we are all the same inside."

"It showcases who we are as a brand," said Fernando Machado, senior vice president of global brand management at Burger King, according to USA Today. "It shows how we, as a brand, believe in self-expression."

The fast-food chain also said it would post a video online on Wednesday showing scenes from San Francisco where the "Proud Whopper" is being sold. more >>
