In a Flip of Position, Same-Sex Marriage Supporters Now Want Federal Gov't to Decide; Opponents Prefer States

A majority of same-sex marriage supporters now want the federal government to decide whether or not to redefine marriage to include same-sex couples for all states while opponents of SSM would prefer to leave the issue to each state. This is the opposite of where each side of the debate stood seven years ago, according to research conducted by the Public Religion Research Institute.

Issue Analysis: Arizona Bill Does Not Give Businesses License to Discriminate Against Gays

Some have claimed that a bill recently passed by the Arizona legislature would give businesses broad license to not serve someone for being gay. This claim, though, may be a misreading, according a CP legislative analysis. While the bill is an attempt to broaden who is covered under its religious freedom protections, in all cases it actually narrows when a religious belief could be used to refuse service.

While President Barack Obama touts a desire to increase access to healthcare, his actions related to the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, or "Obamacare," suggest that he cares more about winning elections than providing health insurance to every American.

For well over a century, Christian Zionists have been steadfast in their support for a Jewish homeland. Emerging from this movement, Evangelical Christians have served as the foundation of Christian Zionism due to a number of theological, moral, and political reasons.

As reported on CNN.com, "The Walt Disney Company has given notice to the Boy Scouts of America that it will pull all funding to the group starting in 2015 because of a BSA membership policy that bans gay leaders."

Sure, the military budget needs trimming, but to balance the budget on the backs of our patriots speaks volumes about where the administration's priorities really lie. What message, pray tell, are they communicating, when they tell a former war veteran to cough up more money for healthcare so some lazy basement dweller living off his parents can have his healthcare subsidized?

I don't venture too much into politics in my writing… or even in my own personal thought life. I really just don't care; which is probably due to my young age and my ignorance about the political terminology being thrown around in the news. But the recent talk of Arizona's SB1062 and other changes in legislature regarding gay marriage (and the twitter warfare among a few high profile Christians surrounding them all) has finally got me thinking on these things.

Many people said ho-hum when President Barack Obama threatened to change any law with his pen or phone, and even use that power to personally alter Obamacare and the welfare law, and to "legislate" the Dream Act that Congress refused to pass. But Americans are rising up by the tens of thousands to stop Common Core, which is the current attempt to compel all U.S. children to be taught the same material and not other things parents might think important.

If you believe all these are wrong, you should support Arizona's SB 1062—because that's what the bill's about rather than the things you may have heard.

Christians in the church today are witnessing what may be described as "truth decay."
